Are You Unhappy At The Quality Of Your Holiday Photos?
You know exactly what it's like. You've been on holidays and seen some great sights and been to some wonderful places. You've filled up cards with all your photos. But you've got home to view your photos and they are always disappointing. They just didn't capture it and they look dull and lifeless.
You wanted to convey so many things in your photos. That special sunset. That light that just turned the view into something special. And that moment when you took that delightful smile on your girlfriends face. Except that when you view your photos none of those things are there.
I don't mean simple mistakes like your thumb over the lens. After all you do know something about photography and you've bought a good quality digital camera. You've spent some time reading all about it and you've managed to get some confidence that your photography skills are on the up and you really ought to be taking good photos now.
But you just seem to be disappointed every time you look at your photos. You don't seem to be improving. You photos just don't tell the story you want them to tell.
It's often a simple step to go from taking ordinary photos to taking good photos you can be proud of. You don't need to go to College for years, you just need to learn some simple basic processes that every photography professional knows.
Like how to go about composing a good photo. How to use the light to best advantage. How to take some good photos of people. How to take pets, and outdoors. How to use a tripod. How to use your flash properly.
Modern cameras are excellent. They are manufactured to take good photos, but it isn't sufficient to just point and shoot as the ads seem to say. You still need to know some photography basics. There is no camera in the world that will take great photos guaranteed, every time, if all you do is to point and shoot.
Now of course if they could make a camera that would take great photos every time just with point and shoot they would, the market would be huge. But the person behind the lens still needs to learn some photography basics.
It's not hard, you need to practice a little, but you enjoy photography so you'll enjoy practicing. You need to learn some of the secrets of the pros and apply them.
You'll go on holidays next time feeling confident with good reason. You'll be able to be confident to hand them around to your friends and you might even find them asking you for some good photography tips.
And you might even look at your holiday photos and find your girlfriend smiling.
I've written a book about how to take better photos, you can get it on my website.
